Creating an Artwork That Brings Science Closer to Home: The Story of Its Creation and the Thoughts Behind the Artwork

In February, the Jusaku Minari Group of the Uehiro Research Division for iPS Cell Ethics unveiled an artwork, titled Ambiguously Certain, which aimed to make life sciences—in particular, cells—feel familiar and thought-provoking for the general public. This artwork was planned by Ms. Kinuko Kasama, Assistant Research Staff (at the time of its creation), and Associate Professor Jusaku Minari. We recently interviewed Ms. Kasama about the piece.

In the first part, we asked her about the impetus for planning this artwork and the difficulties she encountered during the production process.
